Yet another quick update
Things are really busy at work and at school. . . but I actually had some free time this weekend! I did a bunch of errands, took a hike, went on a run (hope to go to the gym later), finished my homework (but not enough work on my speech). . . pretty much a productive weekend with just enough rest. Now hopefully this afternoon I'll finish the laundry, work out, and read a bit more in my book. Maybe once I've done all of that and we sit down as a family to watch Sunday night television, I'll pull out my sweater and work a bit more on the lower band. I've finished almost half of the repeats, so I'm making decent progress!

It's the Weekend!
It's finally the weekend. But, it's not going to be a very restful weekend - but that's okay. We're going to go visit a couple of college campus' tomorrow for my youngest, and travel about an hour to go to her soccer game (one game Saturday and one game on Sunday). So we'll be gone from 8am to about 6pm. Sunday we just go to one game out there in the late afternoon, so the morning will be free. I hope to get some laundry done and to take a decent run. I got a bit tired of doing too long of runs without a goal (okay, I still want to run a 1/2 marathon, but I'm waiting for either someone to do it with me, or enough free time to schedule a weekend for me to run it with support from my family). Anyhow, I do want to do a 5k soon and then a 10k in the next couple of months, but I have to actually sit and pick a free day. That is not always easy! But, I'm not complaining about Saturday because I got off early from work Friday (I had use it or lose it vacation!), and I enjoyed my bit of time off. I took a 4 mile run outside. . . went to a sports outlet store and bought 6 items for $35. . . and then went to dinner with my husband and oldest daughter. So, it was nice so far. Now I'm watching my podcasts, knitting, and playing on the computer. I should be reading, but I'm just not up to that right now. Maybe before I go to sleep. . . maybe not! Oh, while listening to one of my podcasts (the Daily Planet TV), he gave a link to this place that decodes cyber names! So, here is mine:

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter everyone. I've been busy with a lot of things. . . I finished the afghan, made some progress on my new sweater, ran a bit last week (not enough, but a bit) finished a book and made some Easter bread!! Years ago my Grandmother used to make a braided egg bread for Easter. When I asked her for her recipe and tried to make it, it just wasn't the same. She can make it from memory, but couldn't write it down. And now she doesn't make it any more. So, this year I decided to look for the recipe on the internet and give it a try. And, I found an Italian Easter bread that looked about the same and made that. Boy was there A LOT of dough!! But, it turned out wonderful!! Here is a picture of the big bread I made (my kids told me to used the dyed eggs - next time I'll use regular):
And then here is a close up of the one in the back. I put a lemon glaze on that and boy is it good!!
And I like this picture as well. It looks a bit artistic!

And now I'm off to clean some more before company comes over. . .

Working Hard!
I have been knitting and crocheting a lot! First off, I finished a baby sweater for a shower at work today. I didn't even take a picture since I finished it late last night. Oh well. It's the same one that I've made before from the knitty.com site. I just love that pattern! Plus, I worked a bit on the band of the new sweater while at a soccer tournament for my youngest daughter (which I just love watching her play!). I was only able to do one pattern repeat, but at least I started it! Last night was a test in Italian. . . but tonight I've been trying to get a lot done on the afghan. I think I'm a bit over 50% done. Not too bad, but I'm going to work on it quite a bit more Thursday evening as well. And with spring break next week, I should be able to get it done by then and get back to the new sweater. . . and the silk sweater. . .!!!
