Yarn!
Okay, I had trouble finding yarn for the sweater I really want to make. So, after searching the web a bit, I ended up at Michaels.
I bought some Woolease ww yarn, and I think that will do. I'm not sure though. It seems to have the right thickness, but it's
not the same type of yarn that the pattern calls for. But, all of the yarn I needed was only $20, so I figure that's a worthwhile
investment! Then, they had a sale on their specialty yarns as well! I ended up with some yarn to finish my burgundy scarf,
plus a few others since the price was so good!! And now I'm so excited to start my new sweater! But I know I promised some
other things first. So, last night I cast-on for my Dad's scarf and did quite a bit while updating my podcasts. I also started
the lap afghan. I did it a little bit bigger than was asked, but not by much and by the time I figured it out I didn't want
to rip out my work! So, I should be able to finish the scarf this weekend, and the afghan isn't needed until April so I'll
just work on it a little bit here and there. But once I finish the scarf, I'm making a swatch for the sweater!! Oh, but first
I have to finish my second FASFA (I'm almost done, just need some info from my daughter that is currently at work), and work
on a database for my Mother's work. Oh yeah, and I have some homework I really need to do. Okay, I'll finish the FASFA tomorrow
when my daughter is home, the database this afternoon after I do my hair (did I mention I need to color my hair today before
going to a work BBQ. . . and did I mention the BBQ?!) and I'll go by the bookstore and get the verb book my daughter and I
need to work on our Italian speeches. That just leaves a page of homework that is due Monday, so I'll either finish that tonight
after the BBQ or tomorrow after maybe a short hike. I think that will all work out okay, and still leave me some time here
and there to finish the scarf. Oh yeah, I'm meeting my friend for coffee tomorrow, and I get a lot of knitting done during
that time! There, I think it's *somewhat* settled!

Inspired!
I'm inspired to knit a bunch of projects right now! I bought the new Interweave Knits and boy am I inspired to knit!! There
are at least three projects that I plan to knit. I even tried to use some yarn from my stash to use for the first one, but
my yarn didn't work!! Big time bummer. But, I get paid this week and I'm pretty sure I know which yarn will work - and not
for too much $$$! And I've picked out yarn for one of the other ones, and it should be maybe $40! I'm so excited about starting
a new project! Okay, I did just start a new scarf. . . but I need some black and burgundy ribbon yarn to keep working on it
(which I plan on getting when I get the other yarn). And I have that silk sweater I'm working on. . . but it's so boring to
do the stocking stitch! And, I forgot to add, I'm making a lap blanket for my Mother and a scarf for my father that they brought
me the yarn for tonight! I would start the blanket, but she's going to email me the size tomorrow. So, I'll start it Thursday
(school is tomorrow). I'm so excited. . . now all I need is time. . .

Podcasts, blogs and knitting
Well, I was enjoying myself this morning, listening to my podcasts while cleaning for my husband's party tonight (I know,
enjoying myself while cleaning. . .just too odd!) - my news one, the joke one, and a couple of knitting ones. Of course, the
video ones I watched the night before. Anyhow, while listening to one of my favorites, Cast-on (http://www.cast-on.com/) she
mentioned a problem in her episode #10 and I just found it very frustrating and I was glad to hear her talk about it! I'm
just going to have to bring it up at my next stitch and bitch with my friend. It's just amazing. Oh, if you're curious, go
to her website and listen. . .besides this one thing, she talks about other various knitting (and not knitting) related things
and has some wonderful pod safe music - it's just a nice weekly podcast! Oh, and that reminds me - my friend just loves her
book "Stitch 'N Bitch" and I was thinking maybe I should buy the second one, "Stitch 'N Bitch Nation."
They are just such fun books! Oh well. But now the cleaning is done and I'm taking a break before going down to help cook
the snacks. Once that is done, I am going to my room with my dinner, a glass of wine, my knitting and some books. Okay, I
will do a bit of homework as well. I guess that's a necessary evil since there is a test next week and I couldn't fully relax
tonight unless I know I did what needed to be done! But other than that - I'm relaxing! I may even finish that scarf for my
Mom!

Upbeat!
I'm sitting here again posting while listening to the cast-on podcast! The only thing better would be to sit here listening,
and knitting. . .but that will come soon enough. I've been running regularly again, and that feels really good. My long run
today is done, and I'm going to the gym later today. Plus, I'm picking up my anniversary ring (I had to have a prong redone
so I don't lose a diamond) and going to the gym with my husband and older daughter. After that though, I'm going to pick that
new scarf up and see what yarn I can add to it. I bought a really pretty burgundy yarn, cast on 210 stitches (I was supposed
to do 180, then thought 200 would be nice and even, then lost count while I was casting on!). Anyhow, I've almost finished
4 rows on it, so now it's time to take it to my stash of specialty yarns and see what yarn would be good to go next. I'm thinking
a black specialty yarn. If I don't have just what I'm looking for, I may go out later today or tomorrow morning for just one
hank of something. In the mean time, I am almost done with the off-white scarf and I do want to finish that. And, I want to
do some more on my silk shell. And tomorrow, during the superbowl, I should get some work done on both of those since there
is no real pattern that I have to think about, just knitting and purling!

New project
Okay, so I was going to finish the other scarf. . . but the project is downstairs, I'm upstairs, and I'm feeling the need
to just relax tonight! So, I've downloaded some new podcasts. . . had some ice cream that my husband bought me. . .took out
my new burgundy yarn and did a swatch for figuring out how many stitches I want to cast on for a new, black and burgundy fancy
scarf! So, after trying to figure out how long I want it, and how many stitches per inch this beginning yarn will produce,
I've decided I need to cast on 186 stitches! So, time to get to it!
