Trying to get through
Well, it's mid week and so far it's been a long week. Too much happening at work. Not that it's overwhelming work-wise. It's
just stressful because one *very unhappy* worker is leaving and this is her last week. So, it's odd and stressful, but it
will be over soon. Then it will be a matter of hiring the proper person and training him/her. I'm pretty optimistic that that
will turn out okay - it's just the process of getting there. And then top it off with today being my touchiest day (woman's
dealings, what a bummer). . .well that just makes for a really long day. But, by this time tomorrow the hardest will be over.
In the mean time, I've done a bit of reading and a bit of needlework. Especially during the games. What a bummer some of those
football games were! Anyhow, I'm working on two projects right now that are both knitting in stocking stitch. So, it's rather
boring knitting, but it's great to work on while watching football and getting into the game! As for reading, I did get a
lot done while being sick last week, but since then I think I've read maybe 30 pages. I'm trying to read a bit more. . . but
it just not there right now. And as for running - well - I did over 9 miles on Saturday! Yes, I'm so excited and pleased with
myself, but then it caused a relapse and I felt horrible on Sunday. Monday I was still trying to recover. But I ran a bit
on Tuesday :-) And I hope to run again tomorrow morning as well, but I'm taking it day by day now so I don't over do it and
get yet another relapse. But, the way things are going I'm guessing that I'll be able to run. . . we'll just see how much!

Long Week
What a long week!! But at least it's over. Not much in knitting, crocheting or reading! I did my running, but was off by a
day, so I was just under my weekly mileage. Oh well. But it's over now. So, this weekend, and upcoming week, I plan to pick
out at least one new project, finish at least one book that I'm reading and start a fun one. And I plan to get back to my
regular running. As for work. . . too hard to explain. By, suffice it to say, stressful, but it will even out and be okay
fairly soon. I know, I'm being rather vague. . . but after next week when things are back on schedule I'll write more. And
hopefully have some new pictures!

Football Weekend!
It's Sunday football!! I've been waiting for this. Okay, not like holding my breath waiting, but I really enjoy football!
I have three fantasy football teams, one in a league I started, one in a public league, and one through a work league. Fun!
Also, I tend to get a lot of knitting done during games, so that's fun as well!! But I just about finished the scarf I was
working on (I just need to sew in the loose ends), so I need to pick a new project. But I had to switch my running days from
yesterday to today, so I wasn't quite prepared by the time the first game started. So, no knitting in the morning. But, I
plan on getting a pedicure and finding a new project in between games today. Also, I do want to read a bit during commercials.
I've started "The Jungle" as my classic for this month. I'm not sure if I'm going to like it or not, and so far
it hasn't caught my fancy. So, I'm reading at least 20 pages a day to finish it this month. Hopefully I'll get to a point
were I'm enjoying it and will read for more than the 20 pages! Also, I'm still reading "An Underground Education."
I'm enjoying that, but it's fiction. So, I need to pick out another good book so sit and lose myself in. Maybe midweek. .

Labor Day
It's Labor Day. . . and so far so good! This weekend I was able to do my longest run yet on Saturday, and a decent run this
morning at 7:30am. Yes, I slept in for an hour longer this morning!! :-)
I've also been working a lot on the scarf. I finished the main part of it, and the ruffles on the two short sides. I hope
to finish at least one of the long sides today. We'll see. I've also been reading as well. Not as much as I had originally
planned on, but enough. I finished "Year of Wonders" just before the weekend. It was pretty good! I've been following
the discussion questions with my online book group, but I haven't answered any yet. Then, I started "The Traveler"
on Saturday and "An Underground Education." So far I'm really enjoying "The Traveler," and I would be
reading it more, but it's a book I like to read without interruptions, and so far this weekend there have been a lot of interruptions.
I read for a few hours the other night while one child was out of town, my husband was playing poker, and the other child
was home (which is unusual for a weekend night), but she's rather quiet and likes to either be on the computer, doing a puzzle
or reading. So I finished almost half of the book! But after that. . . it's been kind of busy so I've been able to read bits
and pieces of "An Underground Education" here and there and then knitting some more. Even now, I've taken a bit
of time with this entry because I keep having to stop and read what I've written, get my thoughts together again, just in
time to have my attention drawn someplace else! Maybe I should just give into it for the rest of the day. I'm not sure I'll
be able to get a new project started (too much to concentrate on when there is too much going on around me), but I should
be able to either finish the scarf or maybe even start the other straight scarf I wanted to make out of the self-stripping
sock yarn. Well, we'll see. At least the day has started off fairly well!!
