Saturday Morning
Well, we are still sitting here waiting for the plumber to call yet again. We told him to call the cell phone while we were at the doctors, but he just wanted to call the house. Now we will be home all day, but I don't know if he works on Saturday. We've already left a message. *sigh* I told my husband if he doesn't call soon to call the insurance back and let them know. I'm sure they won't want to pay for more damage while waiting for their plumber.

On the up side, I did more of my blanket last night. I have put so much extra work in this blanket and I'm really liking the way it's turning out. . . so I think I'm going to keep this one personally and make another purple one for my friend I'm going to see in December!!

On an even better up side. . . my husband's tests came out good. He may have to go back for one more test next week just to be sure, but I was so relieved yesterday :-)

Still Overwhelmed
On the upside, I've finished a baby sweater (except the buttons) and startd on the matching hat. . .and I've sewn together more than 1/2 of the afghan squares. . .

On the bad side, there is trouble with my husband's health (we are headed back to the doctor's today to find out test results), and my bathroom is leaking and we didn't know it until the kitchen ceiling started to fall. I am just going to do my best to forge ahead and take care of things. Actions are easy, my emotions are not :-/

Getting Better
Well, Tuesday afternoon while watching my daughter's college soccer game, someone broke my driver's side window and stole my purse. I can't begin to explain the thoughts and feelings that I went through. First, I am proud to say that I called the police and had them come out and file a report. After that, I think I spent the rest of the evening crying and cancelling all of my credit cards, bank acount and what have you. After fixing my car (thanks to my husband), my account (again, with his help since I didn't have an ID), notifying the credit reporting agencies, and notifying the DMV and getting an appointment to get my new license, I think I've taken care of most everything tangible. And for the most part, I'm feeling better today. But I haven't knit, read or run. I'm not sure I will tomorrow either. I'm giving myself through Saturday to get over it - then I'm getting back to both my running and my knitting on Sunday! Sunday morning I want to get up and run, and then I want to sit and watch the football games and finish up the baby sweater I'm working on. I may even look at doing a sweater for myself. . . once I get my new checks and ID. . .

*SIGH*

Lazy Saturday
So, I'm sitting here in my family room, watching tv and playing around on my laptop. . . so I thought I would post an update on my blog, especially since I do have some updates! I've made a lot of progress on the newest baby sweater I've been working on. I finished the back, both front sides, and one full arm. I'm working on the second arm, but since I'm just doing k1p1 across and back for 5 more inches, it's a bit boring! I do need to finish that, then I'll do the front brackets and collar and be done!! In the meantime, I decided to work on my new purple blanket (okay, not mine since I'm giving it to a friend). I originally figured that I would need 360 small squares and sew them together 12 across and 30 down. Well, I've finished 300 of the squares and have sewn together three rows. I'm not sure it's wide enough! So, I figure I'll finish what I originally thought I needed, and then if it's not big enough I'll either make some more squares to attach around it, or make some really neat borders. I'll figure that out when I get to that point and can sit and look at the blanket.

I also found a new yarn store in my own city!! Not a big selection of yarn, but not bad either. Plus, she can order any yarn we may need. So, I'm going to try to buy the yarn for my next project there to help support our lys!

Finished - again!
Okay, so I took out the bottom of my sweater, picked up stitches, fixed the stitches that I didn't pick up correctly, then knit the bottom in the k3p1 rib that I did on the sleeves. I put a picture of it at the top of the web page. I like it better than the way it was!

Back to more knitting. . .

I finished something!
Okay, I finished my newest sweater! It was a quick, from the top down sweater. But, the bottom called for a bit of ribbing and a bit of knitting for a rolled edge. I should have known that I don't like shorter shirts with a rolled hem because they keep rolling up! So, I've worn the shirt all day today, and spent a lot of time unrolling it. So, this weekend I am going to undo the hem, tink back to where the ribbing stopped, add new yarn and make the ribbing go down until it stops rolling! Other than that, it's a cute sweater!!

Recovering
Well, I wasn't sick for that long, so I probably shouldn't have titled this entry "recovery"! I was home from work for a couple of days, and didn't run for five. So that was bad enough for me. My youngest though was home for alomst a full week from school. She ended up on antibiotics and allergy medicine. She was feeling a bit better this weekend, and when she feels decent, but not enough to go out, she stays home and cooks! We had a strawberry/raspberry tart, fresh waffles, and yesterday we made candy for Halloween! She helped me to dunk and mold the chocolate, and both girls helped to put the faces on the ghosts and pumpkins. I thought they were too old to want to do this kind of fun stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong!! We're going to do more next weekend as well!

As for me, I haven't been reading too much. I did pick up a book that I'm about 50 pages into - but I'm not feeling the urge to read at all hours. But, sitting home on Thursday (Wednesday was out and about at the doctor's and pharmacy with my youngest), and the evenings this week I've been doing a lot of knitting and crocheting!! I've started on a really cute cabled baby sweater for my coworker in pink and white. When I get at least the back done I'll take a picture and put it up!! I did a lot on my sweater and even finished a chemo hat for a friend. So, I've been busy! Now today is football - that means more crafts done while watching my teams play. I hope my fantasy football team does better this week. . .
