Monday, Monday
I seem to use that title quite a bit! I guess it's too hard to get creative, especially on a Monday! Well, first off, my youngest
is doing better. She can even walk a bit on her own without crutches :-) She's still sore, but that's to be expected. She
has her follow up doctor's appointment Wednesday. I'm hoping he takes out the stitches and releases her to go up stairs. I
know she's hoping for the stair part. . .!!
I've been reading a bit, but I haven't really been inspired by much. A chick lit book here, finish a classic there, and have
yet to make good progress on this month's Dark Tower book. I will bring it to work this morning and see if I want to read
at lunch since I don't have a car again and it's supposed to be too hot to walk.
On the knitting side - I almost finished my shell!! I probably would have, but realized I needed a 16" size 4 needle
to do the collar. I have size 5 and size 3, but I want to finish this right. So, my choice is to go back out tonight after
getting home from work, or ordering it on-line. I looked in a catalog last night and it was $5 for shipping - which seemed
high for a set of $5 needles. Then I thought about ordering the yarn for my beaded shell, which I would like to do, but that
adds just enough $$ that I don't have now. . .but I will have Friday. So, do I just wait until then and order it all - which
would mean I won't have it all for almost two weeks? Probably. Just in case, I did start a poncho for my oldest daughter last
night (finally). So at least I do have something to work on. But it's not the yarn the pattern calls for and I thought my
swatch came out fine, but now it looks like it might be a bit small. Maybe I'll work on that at lunch and make sure it's the
right size before I do too much. Yes, I'll bring that as well. Choices, choices, choices!

GSRP Box!!
So, I'm finally able to get up pictures of the box!! (Even though I did get it shipped back out yesterday afternoon!).
I had lot of fun with it, but I also wanted to rush so the next person in line could go through it as well. It's hard
to be near the end and read through all of the wonderful yarn that has passed in and out of the box. Then again, being near
the front you don't get to see what has happened either! Anyhow, here is a picture of the yarn I thought I could make good
use out of:
The pink yarn I plan to make another summer sweater (the one I'm working on now is out of Woolease - and although it
does not have sleeves, it's a pretty warm looking sweater so far), the sock yarn some more socks, and the blue mohair to go
in the ends of some gloves or scarf! How fun! I wanted to add back some really good yarn to replace what I took, and this
is what I found that I thought was worthy:
It includes some good wool, alpaca and some cotton. Oh my, I'm looking at the picture and realizing I didn't take a picture
of the alpaca! Okay, I bought a cone of thin alpaca and held it together with wool for my Dad's vest. There was quite a bit
left, so I thought that was good to put in the box. I know it's in the box, because I put all of my yarn in (carefully writing
it down on the paper), and then took it back out for a picture. Oh well. I hope it finds a good home!

An Update
Well, surgery went well for my youngest daughter. She had her ACL surgery Thursday morning and the doctor said that her MCL
was okay and just a small tear in her meniscus. To make a long story kind of shorter, tthe first couple of days were rough,
and it's starting to get better. She's already had one physical therapy appointment and I take her to her second one tomorrow
mornning. She's in better spirits, but still needs help here and there. It's so hard to see your child in pain, but she's
a real troooper and rarely complains and doesn't like to ask for a lot of help. In the mean time, I've done a lot of readinhg
and knitting, but not as much as I would have thought. When things get really tough, like waiting the extra time for her to
come out of recovery, all I could do was play little games on my pda to try and keep my mind off of everything. So, while
I didn't do much of the other, I did get reallly good at word games and such!
Also, yesterday afternoon I received the stash redistribution box!! I was just what I needed this weekend. I took out a few
things, and I think I've found enough good quality yarn to add back. I plan on taking pictures and uploading them to my site
either tonight or tomorrow. For some reason today I'm a bit tired and mentally exhausted and while I like looking through
it, I want to be sure I do the bookkeeping right and do a blog entry with pictures all on it's own. But it will have to be
done fairly quickly because I plan to send the box back out either Tuesday or Wednesday, depending fully on how my daughter
is doing and when I can get down to the shipping place.

Nerves, nerves, nerves
Tomorrow is the day of my daughter's knee surgery, but for her the worse part is behind her now because we went in for the
blood work this morning! So, everything is set and done and she is the first one to be done tomorrow morning. I believe we
are going to go out to dinner tonight and I'm sure she's going to take a nice, long shower and wash her hair! I'm not sure
if while waiting for her I will knit or read a book, but I'm leaning towards a book because I want tomorrow morning to just
fly by. The knitting I can do when I'm home sitting by her so I can pay attention, talk to her as she needs, but still keep
my hands busy. So, that's that and I'll post again in a few days!

Quick update
Just a quick update to say that I've been working quite a bit on my shell!! I am almost done with the back part, and hope
to finish that tonight and maybe cast on for the front!! I'm also thinking about starting a pair of socks since I have a lot
of sock yarn and small projects are great to carry (like to the hospital waiting room). I'm not sure, but I might! I still
plan on doing my beaded sweater as well. Maybe this week I'll note the yarn I'm supposed to use and see what I can find on
the internet. Payday is coming up Friday and if the yarn isn't too expensive maybe I can order it! Once the yarn comes in,
I can take a piece of it (or maybe the swatch) and go to the bead store to get a nice, complementing set of beads!! Oh, and
I have been reading here and there. I'm in the middle of a few books, but not really moved to finish them quickly. Not to
say that they are not very good books, but I'm not tempted to stay up late just to finish them!

Picture Time!
Okay, I brought my camera to my parent's house, then forgot to take one of my Dad in his vest! I'm not sure that picture
is going to make it in this blog any time in the near future! But, here are a couple of pictures from my vacation!
This one is of my husband, youngest daughter and myself sitting in front of the King's River.
This on is of my husband, my oldest daughter and myself.
And because I think this one is really cute of my husband posing for my daughter while we were fishing!

Back from vacation
Well, I'm back! Not too much to add though. I did a lot of walking and hiking and reading - but no knitting or crocheting!
It's probably because I only brought up one project to work on, and that's my cabled shell I'm working on. It requires too
much concentration for me to do when I'm spending time with my family. I should have brought up some socks or something else!
Anyhow, I had a great time and I'm working on downloading pictures now. I should have one to post tomorrow. Oh. . . and I
was going to take a picture of my Dad in his vest, but I forgot the camera last week. Maybe I'll be good and remember to bring
it tonight when we return their trailer!!!
