milepost 175. The original town of Coldfoot has been largely
replaced by the only lodging, food, and service center for truckers, and
tourists on the Dalton. |

The historic town of Wiseman at milepost
189. An old gold rush town, Wiseman was immortalized in the book
"Arctic Village" in the 1930's by conservationist Robert
Marshal. One of the few non-native communities north of the Yukon River,
Wiseman currently houses about 30 full time residents. |
