Crushed Shell Jewelry and Inlay
In keeping with the Native traditon of not wasting anything, the scrap pieces and the blemished pieces of shell are used
to make crushed shell jewelry and inlay. The wampum is crushed by hand, sifted, then mixed with an epoxy. Once hard the pieces
are shaped, polished, and drilled the same as the other wampum.

Each original walking stick is made from birch gathered from various locations on Martha's vineyard. Since every branch
of a tree is its own unique shape, each stick is one of a kind.The artist may be able to roughly duplicate a previously made
stick, but the inlay pattern and the shape it will always vary slightly. The one shown to the left is his own personal walking
stick. It has a four and a half inch wampum grip and a traditional diamond pattern inlayed on the shaft. It would retail
for approximately $750. More walking sticks will be posted as they are completed. They can also be made to order. You
will need to contact the artist to talk about the details. Prices start at $300 and go up from there.
