Looking northwest from location of camera icon on map. Line of power poles heads due west. Storm core had already passed to the west and north, and mesocyclone
was expected to pass a short distance to the west and north at approximately the time of this picture.
(1) denotes dry slot we thought was associated with the rear flank downdraft on the south side of the mesocyclone
(2) there was a pronounced lowering, though not a nice bell-shaped wall cloud, just to the north of this clear slot, and unfortunately the view is blocked by this tree
(3) the area to the distant southwest which we should have paid more attention to when instead
we decided to follow the apparent mesocyclone, taking highway Z to the north
