Profiler wind maps: levels 3000 m to 9000 m above sea level

back to main page

Profiler wind maps obtained from the image archive, their original authorship being Greg Thompson's UCAR Weather Page
NOTE: Profiler funding has been zeroed out by NOAA for FY04. The profilers will be dismantled unless funding is restored by Congress. If you want the profilers to continue operating, you must pester your Representative and Senators about it! All of the good folks who run the profiler network and who use the profiler data are appalled, but the Bush Administration refused to listen. And the profilers only cost around $4 million to run, cheap compared to the benefits, but Bush is stealing from everyone to give the tax break to his rich cronies.
