...I have already intimated to you the danger of parties in the State, with particular reference to the founding of them on geographical discriminations. Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally. This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but in those of the popular form it is seen in its greatest rankness and is truly their worst enemy. . . . |

It serves
always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration.
It agitates the community with illfounded jealousies and false alarms;
kindles the animosity of one part against another; foments occasionally
riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and
corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself
through the channels of party passion. Thus the policy and the will
of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.... Ed. Note - I was amazed while reading George Washington's 1797 Farewell Address to the Nation. It's not an easy read in that the diction he uses is very different from today's prose. But check it out, if you get through the wording and go for the meaning, it's truly amazing stuff. Among other things, he says, Hey, don't let your love for a political party cloud your judgement and do things that are against the Union! I know you love your parties and your ideas for guiding our nation, and passion to a party is understandable!But watch out! In our form of government, loyalty to a party is also potentially the rankest and worst enemy of the Union! Watch out - alignment to a party and not to America opens the door to foreign influence! George warns against doing things for the moment, or to appese the issues of the moment, that could potentially harm the Union in the long term, even if it's a very remote possibility. His vision of unity and passion for the country really come through in this speech. It's well worth the read, it's outstanding stuff. After reading this one speech, it's clear to me what George Washington would think about George Bush's Guest Worker Program. I also think George Washington would commend the Minutemen on our border as Patriot Americans, and praise their efforts - and he would probably join them. |
When you send the print job to the printer, the printer and computer will split the graphic up into several sheets. Adobe Acrobat does the same thing - here's how Adobe Acrobat see's one of these signs:
As you can see, it takes the overall grahpic and splits it up into sheets. When you print a sign at home, it is split up similarly. Then, you simply reassemble the sheets into 1 graphic on your posterboard. |

Illegal Immigration Driving This Many Americans CRAZY
This site
is created and maintained by private citizens looking to do their part fighting
illegal immigration.
May each sign on this site be printed and used in a million signs around the
land, it would then come close to expressing how frustrated we feel about this
problem.
