The Stockton DNA Project

Although all who bear the Stockton Surname may not share the same ancestors, each family has produced men of marked ability, weather under the crown of England or the bald eagle of America it has been a family of a continuous heritage of greatness.........This project is a loving tribute to all our Stockton ancestors that have come before... never forget...............

We are undertaking the use of Genetic Analysis to further the genealogical study of our Stockton ancestors and family lines. After many years of researching our own elusive ancestors, helping other researchers and learning of the various disputes among Stockton genealogists, we have decided to use the newest tool in genealogy reasearch, "DNA testing". This project will not take the place of your own traditional documentary research, but we hope to provide a companion tool for you to verify your own research, determine relationships and establish family lines.

Knowingly, we will solve some mysteries and create others, but hopefully this project will enable you to find answers to your own family mysteries. For our Stockton cousins who don't know where they fit into the Stockton Family Tree, donating DNA to this project will help you connect to your "Genetic Cousins"

This is an ongoing research project that will be expanding with each new Stockton DNA donor. As we go forward we hope to expand this project to include all variants of the Stockton surname, such as Stoughton, Stogden, Stocton etc.. With participation of our Stockton cousins in the United Kingdom, we have provided a bridge accross the water providing additional genetic pools and ancestors. "The Stockton DNA Project" will be a valuable resource for our English and Irish cousins to trace Stockton ancestors that may have emigrated to the United States and continue the bloodline. How do I Join?.....

If you are a male with the Stockton surname, you are eligible to join the "Stockton DNA Surname Project" all testing is done through "Family Tree DNA". The discounted rate through the project for the Y-12 marker DNA test kit is $99. There are also Y- 25 and Y-37 marker test kits available if you choose.

Please use the "Join Request " link on the bottom of this page, fill out the Stockton surname join request application and the project administrator will be in touch with you by E-mail and provide a "join code" to order the DNA tests at the reduced project rate, or if you prefer you may join directly from the "Family Tree DNA " website.
