ANGLICAN YOUTH CAMP (AYC)
at Alpine Meadows Camp in the
San Bernardino Mountains
of Southern California
July 6 - 13, 2003
(ages 11-18)

Every summer the ANGLICAN YOUTH CAMP takes place in the stunning SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, at CAMP ALPINE MEADOWS. The AYC, founded to promote the participation of Anglican Youth in the life of the Church, has been involved in Anglican summer camping for many years. ANGLICANS AT CAMP began at Camp Santa Maria in the Colorado Rockies in the early 1980s. Fr. Gregory Wilcox, current Director of the Camp Program, served as Chaplain to this group for 13 years. In 2001 the Camp moved its location to Southern California. Every year since then, a staff of trained clergy and lay counselors come together at this beautiful mountain site to provide an unforgettable camping experience for Anglican young people.
CAMP ALPINE MEADOWS - Deep blue skies, crisp mountain air, sparkling spring water and tall evergreen forests all combine to make it the perfect camping experience. Our campers explore the meadows, streams and forests on the miles of hiking trails surrounding the camp. Nearby Jenks Lake offers canoeing and swimming off a private, supervised beach. Campers swim in the olympic-size pool, challenge the team-building low ropes confidence course, play volleyball, baseball, soccer & football and sing their hearts out under the stars around the huge fire circle. The camp offers the best in summer camping: modern conference and workshop facilities in a beautiful wilderness setting. Facilities include OWL LODGE, situated in the middle of our site and serving as the main meeting room and Chapel; each CABIN has either two or three bedrooms with brand new bunk beds, and all have two modern bathrooms; the DINING HALL has a large, modern kitchen staffed by professionals who provide delicious meals 3 times a day, including fresh baked breads and desserts.
The AYC Program is dedicated to bringing teens together to build faith and friendships. Every day begins with Morning Prayer and the celebration of the Mass; Evening Prayer closes each day. Our program of religious education helps teens deepen their understanding of the Faith, while spiritual direction will provide opportunities for their personal growth in Christ. Experience shows that the friendships formed at Camp can last for many years. The bonds forged with other young Anglicans will not only enrich their individual lives but strengthen the Church in the future as these young people assume positions of leadership in the years to come. Part of the Camp's program is designed to teach our young people the Christian leadership skills necessary to help them play leading roles in the future of the Church.
