Our

Future

Exciting news!  We have completed our pre-design phase and

engaged a design firm.  Work should begin on our building project spring 2003!

Thanks to members of Jubilee I, II, and III for their help and guidance.

Printed below is an excerpt from the proposal approved by the diocese requesting

assistance in facilitating our wonderful growth.

ST JOHN’S – A NEW VISION OF EXPANSION

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The community of St John’s Episcopal Church, Logan, Utah has undergone a rebirth in the last few years. The Holy Spirit calls us to life in Christ and has helped us to live out our baptismal covenant and bring others into his fold.  We have grown spiritually and numerically.

However joyous this renewal is, it does not come without problems.  A major problem with this wonderful growth is – what do we do with all these people?  St John’s Church can comfortably accommodate only 80 people.  We have no place where the congregation can gather together as a whole – be it for a parish meeting or fellowship.  Therefore the community of St John’s seeks to expand its physical facilities in order to accommodate current and anticipated membership growth.

Summary of Goals

·              Retire current Parish House (85 E 100 N, Logan) with dignity and grace.

·              Preserve and renovate existing church/sanctuary as chapel.

·              Replace existing Parish House with major wing of new structure housing a new worship space, fellowship hall, classrooms, choir/music rehearsal room, offices, etc.

·              Acquire property within the block (100 N / 100 E / Church St / Federal Ave).

·              Remodel, renovate, and bring up to code the Champ House

Recommendations

In as much as we have done a significant portion of the visioning and pre-design work, we are now ready to have FFKR come to Logan and complete pre-design plans.  We seek permission of the Diocesan Jubilee Committee to engage FFKR to help us continue our project.
