St. John's will host a community awareness and fundraising presentation for Aggie Cat Services—a Utah State University program for controlling the population numbers and health of un-owned cats.  RSVP by Sunday, April 6.  The event is free and all are welcome. 2008 Day of Discovery

The 2008 Day of Discovery presentation is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, at the Episcopal Church Center of Utah. It runs from 8:30-4:00.

The Day is an introduction to a 12-week program of discernment for ministry that is offered annually for all baptized Christians. It is a first-step prerequisite in the Diocese of Utah for anyone who may wish to discern for ordained ministry.

WHERE:       Grace Episcopal Church, St. George

WHO:            Junior and Senior high youth (Grades 6-12)

COST:            $60 per participant     (includes transportation)

Sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Utah Office of Youth Ministry

 

SCHEDULE

Friday, May 2nd

4:00pm—Bus will leave from St. James

     (7486 S. Union Park Ave.—Midvale) for

     transportation to St. George.  Stop in

     Spanish Fork for dinner (bring money).

9:30pm—Arrive in St. George

 

Saturday, May 3rd

    * Community garden     service project

    * Hiking

    * Swimming

 

Sunday. May 4th

     Worship at Grace Church

     Depart for home

     Bus will arrive back at St. James   

     approximately 5:00pm

 

HOW TO REGISTER: Fill out a registration and release form and return with registration fee to: Episcopal Diocese of Utah, ATTN: Youth Ministry, PO Box 3090, Salt Lake City, UT 84110-3090. Registration fee is $60 if postmarked by April 22nd and includes transportation; late registrations are $70 and may not be accepted due to space limitations. The number of youth participants is capped at 50, so please register early to ensure space.

Knitting into the Mystery

Knitters meet every Tuesday from 10-11:30am in the Paul Jones room to knit prayer shawls. A time for a little prayer, fellowship and pastoral care.  We can teach you to knit.
