Do You Need our
Prayers in Crisis or Joy?
Neighborhood Support
The congregation of St. John's has
been divided into five geographic neighborhoods to better meet the needs of our
church family. Special needs may arise
as a result of serious illness, loss of loved ones, childbirth, etc. Our neighborhood coordinators listed below
have volunteered for each area to assess, organize and facilitate fulfillment
of your special needs.
To help you determine which geographic
neighborhood you live in, each entry in the directory has been assigned a
neighborhood number. This number
appears in parentheses after the name.
It is important for you to know your
neighborhood coordinators. They are
your primary contact for assistance and will arrange and coordinate whatever
help you need. Please take the opportunity
to call or meet these special volunteers.
Neighborhood 1: The north end of the valley, starting at Hyde Park and
including Smithfield, Richmond, Benson, Lewiston, Preston, Collinston, and
Garland. Area coordinators: Marj Cramer, Sandra Robertson, and Linda
Smith.

at 300 East, including USU campus and North Logan. Area coordinators: Kara
Howland, Kathy Johnson, and Kelly Mattson.

beginning at 300 East. Area

Whom to Call in Time of Illness or Special Need?
If you or someone you know at St. John's becomes ill or has a special
need, please be sure to call the church office immediately at 752-0331. If no on is in the office, please leave a
message on the answering machine.
Immediately thereafter, please ALSO call one of your neighborhood
coordinators for your area listed below.
To determine what area you live in, please refer to the preceding
page. If you are unable to reach your
neighborhood coordinator, please call Linda Smith or any member of the pastoral
care team listed below. If you have an
emergency or critical illness and it is after hours, please call our vicar, The
Rev. Ruth Eller at home at 753-6903.
Your call will activate our pastoral care support services, which
include visits, meal delivery, errands, transportation to doctor appointments,
babysitting, housecleaning, and phone calling coordination for a period of time
not to exceed 14 days based on your specific need. We pray that two weeks is adequate time for recovery in most
cases. In the event of an ongoing

Do you need our prayers in crisis or joy?
We believe the power of prayer is awesome. The members of St. John's prayer chain welcome all requests
for prayers - petitions or thanksgiving.
Our prayers are for everyone - for all of God's children
everywhere. A current prayer list is
always available in the back of the church, in the church office, and on the
clipboard in the rectory used during morning prayer. If you wish to add an individual or a group to the prayer list in
a non-emergency manner, please feel free to do so by calling the church
office. We prayer every evening between
8-9:00 p.m. and at 10:30 p.m. for those on our prayer list.
For all regular prayer requests, please contact the church office!
If you wish to activate our prayer chain in an emergency or
crisis, please immediately call one of the following prayer chain members who have
volunteered to be available during the time period noted. We suggest you keep calling until you make
contact with someone. The prayer chain
member you reach will contact the other members of the prayer chain immediately
and we will begin our prayers.
