GUSANATS VANK ("MONASTERY OF THE VIRGINS")
Gusanats Vank ("monastery of the virgins") in Ani, overlooking the Akhurian River. The name refers to St. Hripsime and her companions, a group of Christian nuns who traveled to Armenia at the turn of the 4th century and were martyred when they rejected the pagan king's advances.
