Obi Jacket



This is the first sweater I've ever made from my own handspun. The design is adapted from the excellent book, Simply Knit.


I spun the yarn from a selection of rovings prepared by small farms. The orange/beige and green/orange rovings were from Jehovah Jireh Farm, and the beige/white roving was from Tongue River Farm. All the yarns are bulky-weight 2-ply. I spun approximately 24oz of orange/beige, and 8oz of the other two colorways.

The finished Obi, measuring 54" in width and 25.5" in length. Each sleeve is 5" long. The front band is 3.5" wide:
