North American and Pelican Nebulas
The North American Nebula (NGC7000) is well named for its easily recognized shape and is a very large and faint emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus. The Pelican Nebula (IC5070) which somewhat resembles the head of that bird is the smaller emission nebula just right of NGC7000. For a close up on the tail or "Mexico" section click here. |
