The market for videogame software was
$10.5 billion in the
US last year, so it’s
a big number. That
compares to movie
box office of about
$10 billion, and it
compares to DVD
sales and VHS sales
and rentals combined of $20 billion. So the video
game sales business is half as big as DVD and
VHS sales and rental. If you layer in $2 billion of
video game rentals, video games as a category are
close to 60% the size of the movie sales and rental
business, and are bigger than movie box office.

Felice Bryant, who co-wrote the Everly Brothers' 'Wake Up Little Susie' and 'Bye Bye Love' and Buddy Holly's 'Raining in My Heart,' died on April 22, 2003, the performing rights organization BMI said. Bryant, who collaborated with her husband Boudleaux Bryant on some of the most popular songs in rock 'n' roll and country music, died at her home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee after having been diagnosed with cancer, BMI spokeswoman Caroline Davis said. The 17-page lawsuit -- filed by Donald Taylor of the Austin law firm Taylor & Dunham LLP -- contains a detailed list of events outlining Agillion's spending habits.

Among the events listed in the suit:

Spending more than $3 million on a 30-second commercial during the 2000 Super Bowl. The spot aired a month before Agillion launched its product.
Spending about $500,000 to take all Agillion employees on a all-expenses-paid trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Despite earning only a "few hundred dollars in the U.S.," Agillion opened an office in Australia, which closed six months later.
Agillion entered into a $13 million, 10-year lease at Stonecreek Park on North MoPac Expressway that the suit alleges was "lavish and unnecessary."
Tripling the size of its workforce only to lay off many within months.
Spending more than $430,000 during the first three months of 2000 to sponsor several events, such as South by Southwest, "Austin City Limits" and the 360 Summit.
Spending "tens of thousands" of dollars on several company parties, such as a "Casino Night" Christmas party in 2000 and a Super Bowl party at Dave & Buster's, where Agillion bought 168 bottles of wine.
An exhibit attached to the suit is a copy of a color photograph of Papermaster -- as the master of ceremonies during the Cabo San Lucas trip -- wearing a sombrero and riding a horse on the beach as he talks to his employees with a wireless microphone.

  Bonzoıs Sister Covers Led Zeppelin
Friday, March 07, 2003
Source: Paul Cashmere

Deborah Bonham, the younger sister of the late John Bonham, the powerhouse drummer for Led Zeppelin has recorded a cover of Led Zepıs ŒThe Battle Of Evermoreı.

The song that was originally on Led Zep IV is included as a bonus track on Deborahıs ŒOld Hydeı. It is a live version recorded as a duet with her nephew (and Johnıs song) Jason Bonham.

Deborah is not without her pulling power for grabbing guests on her record. The band includes Mick Fleetwood, Robert Plant guitarists Robbie Blunt and Dougie Boyle as well as Paul McCartney guitarist Robbie McIntosh. Jason features on drums through-out the album.

She certainly keeps good company. At the 2001 Memorial Concert for Stevie Marriott she performed with Humble Pie (the original line up), Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher and original Small Faces men Ian Maclagen and Kenny Jones.

Deborah was just 5 years old when John joined Led Zeppelin.

This isnıt the first time she has covered a Led Zep song. Las year she appeared with John Roth from The Scorpions in Germany and both sang ŒSince Iıve Been Loving Youı.

Her voice is described as a cross between Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks.

In other great news for Led Zep fans, their will be a new 3CD Led Zeppelin live album released in May. The album will be called ŒHow The West Was Won². Fans will have the choice of the 3CD audio version or a 2DVD video version.

The tentative release date for How The West Was Won is May 27.

"...kittens drowning in milk, pheasants wandering in freeway lanes, lumberjacks taking chainsaws to chalkboards, firemen burning down their own firehouses, coffee spilled on khakis, rohypnal lip balm, turtles used as bowling balls, wheelchair racing down steep steps, smoking toenails in a bong, wooden sparrows on trees of feathers, forks jabbed in toasters, nobody fed the dog, lightning striking again and again in the same place over and over." - Mark Lewman, 11/6/01
