Art, Matta once said, is necessary for everyone because it "awakes in you and shakes in you energies that otherwise might transform themselves into violence and could be very dangerous." True art is the imagination unfettered, he believed. "You may need this imagination," he added, "at the critical moments in your life."

Meisner, Swan & Rich
CRREV12
Charlie Rich Jr., son of the fabled country soul star, and godson of Jerry Lee Lewis, was working on Jimmy Griffin's (of Bread fame) "Black Tie" project in the late-1990's when he met Eagles bassist/songwriter Randy Meisner and Memphis legend Billy Swan (whose '70's hit "I Can Help" is the merest tip of a rockabilly-soul iceberg going back to his schooldays)
The three decided to take the time out to do a low-key project together......which has unbelievably remained unreleased until
recently....and here sees the light in Europe for the first time ever.....the material on the album does the legacy of all three men proud, and is in fact some of the best stuff they have ever done.....
Rich arranged many of his father's classic hits, and recent Jerry Lee material which brought "The Killer" back into the spotlight.... This is also Meisner's first serious collaboration post-Eagles, of great interest to Eagles fans and Billy Swan's first foray into collaborative work since the early '70's, showing the songwriting ability which brought him hit writer status with the likes of ex-Drifter Clyde McPhatter as a schoolboy in the early 1960's.......
