Welcome

One of the great things about the World Wide Web is that even amateurs can have a web page. Hey! That's me. My name is Steve Albin. I live in Montclair, NJ.

Actually, when I first created this page in 1997, I was an amateur web developer. But in 2005, I decided that web development may be a more exciting way to make a living than the computer work I had been doing. So, I'm no longer the amateur. Find out more about what I can do for you at my professional web page.

Here's some stuff that I'm interested in.

Brian 4

Brian 3 is a relational data base application that I wrote to compile discographies. Finally, I even have documentation for the program and it is downloadable from the web. Find out more about how you too can become obsessed with sessions, songs and sidemen!

Beyond Category 2

Beyond Category is a relational data base application that I wrote to catalog album collections. Finally, I even have documentation for the program and it is downloadable from the web. Find out more about Beyond Category.

Pictures!

Take a look at pictures of the trip Ruth and I took to Iceland and Norway.

Heaven on earth in Lincolnville, Maine.

Frank Sinatra

My Frank Sinatra sessionography is a work in progress. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Peggy Lee

Peggy Lee could say more with one raised eyebrow than most singers could say with their entire body. Ivan Santiago researched the lady like no one else. Using Brian and Ivan's data, I created a complete discography and put it on the web. Take a look and tell him what you think.

Tony Bennett

I'm working on a Tony Bennett discography. This is a work in progress. I'm using information given to me by Will Friedwald. Much of the information is derived from his digging through the files at Columbia.

Sir Charles Thompson

Bill Gallagher has used my data base application, Brian, to create a Sir Charles Thompson discography. Take a look and tell him what you think. He welcomes any corrections or updates.

Eddie Higgins

Bill Gallagher has also just created an Eddie Higgins discography. He is looking for any updates or corrections that will help him complete this work.

Carol Sloane

Jeanie Wilson compiled a Carol Sloane discography and I entered the data using Brian. Take a look and tell us what you think. We welcome any corrections or updates.

My Record Collection

Here's a self-indulgent entry. These are all the records and cds I have in my collection that I've entered in my Beyond Category database. Got a question about one of these albums? Ask Me. I will be glad to send you a detailed listing of the entry as it appears on my database
