Woman's Role in the Church


Is it proper for a woman to speak in the church?

In I Corinthians 11:3-6, Apostle Paul allows woman to speak out in prayer and in prophecy during worship.

"But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. Every man who has something on his head while praying or prophesying, disgraces his head. But every woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying, disgrace her head ..."

Whereas in I Corinthians 14:34-40 of the same letter, Paul seems to forbidding woman to speak during worship.

"Let the women keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but let them subject themselves, just as the Law also says..."
