Western Belles at the Poconos

Yes it was time for another wedding ! This time it was to be a Western 'shotgun' wedding at the Poconos Ranch in NY state. My best friend Debbie and I had been planning this for weeks. Finally it was time to start to pack the car for the long drive to the Poconos. The trip down went well but had one unexpected event on the way. We began to notice that every truck we passed seemed to know we were coming but I couldn't work out why we had attracted so much attention, after all we were rather conservatively dressed....even Debbie who is renowned for her indecently short skirts !. Finally we realised that the petticoats we carrying for The Dressing Room had escaped and filled the rear of the car making for an interesting sight in shocking pink and black. Once they were under control again we merged into the crowd once again .
Finally we arrived at the Poconos just in time for dinneron the Thursday evening. We were soon unpacked and out of our cabins ready for dinner and the evening's entertainment.

Friday morning my friend Vanessa and I decided to investigate the town a little but after an uneventful trip to the supermarket and shops headed back for lunch and to get changed for some of the events in the afternoon. Seeing as we were on a ranch it seemed only right to do a little horse riding , so we all went off for a trek through the woods. It was at this point I began to regret not bringing my coat as it was rather cold. However, Lady Anai let me borrow her jacket so I wouldn't freeze on my pony trek, it fitted me so well she was lucky to get it back !. Later we had a go at rifle shooting which I thought I had done reasonably well at till I watched Vanessa, oh well, she had done it rather a lot before.

The evening was to be the wedding so by late afternoon I was getting ready for my 2nd big day. My dress was white lace over a satin body with a sweetheart neckline. The shoes were rather nice white sandals with diamante trims. White lace stockings with a white and blue garter completed my outfit.

The event started with me at the top of the balcony overlooking the main entrance hall of the ranch. On my right is my groom Kali. on my left were my bridesmaid Jerri , my flower girl Stephanie and Ami. My friend Kathryn escorted me down the staircase.

At the foot of the stairs Holly waited to carryout the ceremony in her unique style. As before at Dressing for Pleasure it was so much fun to be at the center of all the attention. There were so many photographs being taken it was difficult to know where to turn next. I will be putting more photos in my album - Stephanies Wedding Album later so please be patient.

After the ceremony we all went into the reception for our meal. Kali decided it was time to remove my garter much to the delight of the guests. Well it is tradition or so I'm told !
After dinner it was time for the hayride out to the bonfire , so after a quick change Vanessa and I set off in the cart well wrapped up for the ride to the bonfire. I'd taken heed of my earlier horse ride and was well wrapped up this time !! After a few drinks at the fire it was back the bar for a few more and some dancing till the wee small hours .
Saturday was time relax and take in some of the seminars. My friend Tina showed us all just how small her waist could be with the help of her corsets. It was quite remarkable how she could reduce her waist and she looked stunning with her figure. Of course I could resist could I so Tina helped me try one of her 'training' corsets. Although I was rather pleased with my new shape it didn't seem very practical for a night out dancing....or was I missing the point ?

Stephanie the sissy maid gave us all an insight into what she enjoys and amused us all with her tales of her exploits as a maid. Throughout the weekend she was always the most attentive of serving maids and made the whole weekend enjoyable with her wonderful outlook on life .

Saturday night was to be the talent contest and also the fashion show. I intially only intended to be in the fashion show but Debbie persuaded me that we should both enter the talent contest too. Much of the afternoon was taken trying to decide what music we had with us and which we had some chance of memorising for the evening. The came the choice of what to wear ! In the end Debbie decided to do Tina Turner and I plumped for Alanis Morrisett. I borrowed Debbi's wig and dress and set about practising ' Ironic' for the evening show. This is Debbie doing 'Simply the best' on the left.

The fashion show was 1st and I'd decided it would be my blue sequin dress for that. However, Tina in her lovely sequined silver dress was voted the winner so this was one contest I was not to win. Tina is behind me in the silver dress she wore for the competition.

A quick change and I was back for the talent contest as Alanis. Amazing what a change of hair style and color can do as no-one recognised me at first ! Debbie was on 1st as Tina and gave a wonderful show , she even managed to remember most of the words . Finally it was my turn to perform. I was very nervous but once I started it got better, well till I forgot the words. Any way I managed to get to the end without tripping or embarassing myself too much and actually enjoyed it ....I think. However, as with the fashion show it was not to be my event as some skilful harmonica playing by Kathryn stole the show and she was declared the winner.
Saturday night turned into a very long pj party , just like Friday really !! So it was rather late when I managed to get back to my cabin for some much needed sleep.

Sunday came all too soon and Debbie and I stuffed everything back into her car for the long drive back to Detroit. After an uneventful journey home we both were not looking forward to Monday morning. Well there is always the next event !!!
