We arrived at the Silver Ring car park just as it began to rain. Fortunately, we could sit in the car and enjoy our picnic in comfort, but it would have been nice to be outside in the sunshine. However, the champagne and salmon still tasted good and the strawberries and cream even better. Once we had finished lunch it was time to join the throng ( about 75,000 apparently ) in the race course. Once inside we had time to wander around and admire all the beautiful hats and dresses.
That is what I love about race meetings,
everyone takes the time to dress at their best, especially true
for Ascot of course. Even the Policemen look especially well
dressed and some happy to pose with me for a photo :). He was so
nice perhaps I should send him a copy !.
After spending some time wandering around the Silver Ring and failing dismally to interest the BBC camera crew we decide to head for the Tattershals Grandstand. It was obviously much more upmarket in the grandstand, so of course we felt quite at home !.
Seems I've developed something of a reputation for always having a drink in my hand. So not wishing to disappoint anyone here I am Pimms No1 in hand wishing you were all here with me :).
Well if you can take anymore here is another page !
