TRIANGLE ACTIVITY

This activity allows students a "hands-on" proof that all interior angles of a triangle
really do add up to 180 degrees.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 1.  Each student gets a triangle. They can either make one themselves, or
               the teacher can have some already made up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 2. Students number each interior angle from 1 to 3 as shown below.
Number the corners from 1 to 3.........
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 3. Students carefully tear each corner off, along with their respective
              numbers, as in the picture.  Keep the 3 corners, disregard the rest.
Tear off the corners carefully!!!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 4. Students group the 3 angles together, and ....
All pieces put together to form 180 degrees!
               they see that the total is 180 degrees!
