GP, NW STARRPAWZS PANDA BEAR

In May of 1996, a black and white Scottish Fold male with beautiful tuxedo markings was born, GP, NW Starrpawzs Panda Bear, bred and owned by Jacqueline and Bonnie Malick, and two years later he was CFA's Twelfth Best Cat in Premiership. Panda was twice placed in a pet home because Bonnie and Jacqueline were planning to show another kitten born two weeks earlier than Panda. Then they tried to find him a show home, but nobody seemed interested. So, perhaps it was destiny that Panda would remain a part of the Starrpawz family and become their first national winner.

When Panda went to his first show at eight months of age, he had never been in a show hall, and there was a question of how he would deal with it. His mother had absolutely hated it; would he be the same? But Panda put any fears to rest when he made himself at home in the benching cage and on the judges' tables. He granded in two shows, still only eight months old. Bonnie and Jacqueline were thrilled!

Panda made his season debut at the Empire Cat Club show in May. The result was a national ring point average, so it was decided to take the plunge and see what he could do. Panda went to many shows, both driving and flying, but even as the end of the season neared, he never grew tired of going to shows. In fact, he felt the need to show up his long-bodied friends by stretching up the poles on the judges' tables!

Bonnie and Jacqueline showed in many different regions, some of which they had never gone to before. They made new friends, had a blast, and really felt the camaraderie of the other campaigners. They would like to thank all for their friendship and support, the judges who recognized Panda's quality and consistently gave him finals, and most of all, to express their love and thanks to their dear friend Omar Gonzalez for his support and guidance throughout this past year, without whom Panda wouldn't be bringing such accolades to Starrpawzs.
