In February, 2004, I journeyed to Belize looking for a particular
Mayan Daykeeper, who was caretaking the temple site at Lamanai. I was on a quest to learn about the conclusion of the
Mayan Calendar on Winter Solstice, 2012. Arriving at the temple before daybreak, I was mystified by ancient, wild
& intelligent spirits calling across the temple yard. I was struck by the way that the temple faces the north
direction ~ as if welcoming me home. As it turns out, that New Moon morning marked the Tibetan New Year (called Losar)! Surprize!
We were beginning The Year of the Wood Monkey ~ 2131 according to the Tibetan calendar count.
Later, I learned of a prophecy held by Mayan elders in Guatemala that describes how sacred energy ~ the Earth's rising
kundalini~ had flowed from Tibet to the land of the Mayans over the course of many years.
This Tibetan~Mayan connection is an aspect of the EARTH MEDICINE
WHEEL described through White BUffalo Calf Woman's prophecy.
