Dining In Cruz Bay

Cruz Bay, St. John's main town, is approximately a 15 minute drive from the Orchid Court Tennis Cottage. There are many excellent restaurants there to choose from including those we are recommending below.

BANANA DECK: American food served on a breezy deck across from Cruz Bay harbor (693-5055)

MARGARITA'S: Delicious Mexican cuisine (693-8400)

COMPASS ROSE at PASTORY GARDENS: One mile east of Cruz Bay, good food and a beautiful landscaped miniature golf course with a dramatic sunset view of St. Thomas (777-3147)

SOGO'S: Carribean, American food (779-4404)

SUN DOG CAFE: Excellent lunch dishes, Mongoose Junction ( 693-8340)

TEXAS COAST CAFE: Tex-Mex menu

UNCLE JOE'S BARBEQUE: Excellent ribs and chicken, very reasonable priced (693-8806)

Dining In Coral Bay on the East end of St. John:

The small and dusty community of Coral Bay is a scenic 30 minute drive from the Orchid Court Tennis Cottage. Our favorite eating places there are the following:

SHIPWRECK LANDING: Fresh fish, steaks, pastas, and cool breezes (693-5640)

AQUA BISTRO: Cocolobo Shops. Good food, plaza dining. (715-0101)

SWEET PLANTAIN: Excellent local dining. Dinners only.

CASUAL DINING

SKINNY LEGS BAR & GRILL: Hamburgers and salads. Sports bar, Darts & Horseshoes (779-4982)

BIG BELLY DELI: Breakfasts daily except Sunday, Deli Sandwiches, Pizza after 4 (779-4232)

ISLAND BLUES: Sandwiches and Quesidillas to Surf n' Turf. On the water.

SUNDAY BRUNCH IN CORAL BAY

DONKEY DINER: Breakfasts Wednesday - Sunday; Pizza Wednesday and Friday evening. Internet (693-5240)

Half way between the Orchid Court Tennis Cottage and Coral Bay on Centerline is CHATEAU BORDEAUX, definitely one of St. John's finest restaurant. Chateau Bordeaux (776-6611) offers gourmet Mediterranean cuisine and, in our opinion, the best view from any restaurant on the island.
The main restaurant is only open for dinners but during the day, on the restaurant's side deck, CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE is open offering tropical blender drinks, a casual menu, cool breezes and a fabulous view.
