THE BAND

Ill Will was formed when an explosive young drummer from Manhattan Beach By the name of Mark Haley joined a three-piece Punk band from El Segundo in 1981 who called themselves The Haters. The Haters consisted of three surfers who watched the movie Rock and Roll high school about twelve too many times and decided to become a Punk Band. It all started when Sheldon bought a guitar and learned how to play about three Ramones songs. It wasn't long before Brian bought a bass and Adam Guy bought the infamous ZIM GAR metaflake red drum set, Sheldon's family room at His parent's house turned into a rehearsal studio.

Ill Will started Gigging and soon had two cuts on a compilation album called "Life is ugly so why not kill yourself", and with KXLU and KROQ playing some punk music they got some airplay.

Personnel changes hit the band and new vocalists and drummers were abound, Having two more cuts on a sequel comp album "Life is beautiful so eat lots of health food" saw Devin Ernest on vocals. Gig's were getting scares and clubs were starting to get tired of Punk. Speed Metal was a new scene and Brian and Sheldon Joined Lance Peterson and Derek Van Meter from an El Segundo band called WESTERN WASTE and formed a band called SOMINEX, lead guitar added to old fashioned grind, worked well to get Gigs.

Vocalists:

Adam Guy, One of the Hater originals, and the Haters and Ill Will are the only two bands that Adam ever performed with. Freaked out in 85 and found Elvis, now He found GOD mabey He will find His way back, Who knows.

Devin Ernest, Filled in for Adam and brought a tough guy image with Him, calling people in the crowd fags and pussies was one of His hobbies, very strong voice and meaner than cat shit. Devin also played the guitar for a band called GENETIC DAMAGE.

Danny Ernest, Added to the band during the Sominex period, took over for Sheldon while the band was creating songs that needed full time rhythm. Danny had good stage presence like his older brother Devin and brought in a lot of Chicks too. Danny sang for a band called GENETIC DAMAGE, all new members and I think He stold the name but its O.K. to steel from your brother.

Rob, Never did know His last name, another tough guy, lots of stage presence and could belt out the deep voice fast, good front man. Rob sang for a band called NECROPHELIA and set up the Whiskey Gig with SOMINEX and RITUAL.

Sheldon Parker, sings "now" and then, original member of the HATER band and has never played with any other bands.

Drummers:

Adam Guy, original HATER drummer on the ZIM-GAR and the Pie Tin crash.

Mark Haley, young jazz drummer, didn't play punk style but made everybody shit when they saw Him play. Mark was the fastest drummer anybody has ever seen, pushed the band into a faster than the GERMS style and the slam pits were turned dangerous. Mark is now a sound man and probably has to sit in from time to time when some drummers don't show up.

Devin Ernest, yes he drummed to but not for long.

Chris Claudino, when the band was in a slump Sheldon and Brian got things going again by putting Sheldons younger brother Chris on the skins. Chris was a rock steady drummer and the three piece band played a more controlled kind of music and created a lot of new songs. Chris is now the Current drummer and once again He added the rock steady beat and is drumming faster than shit. Chris also played drums for a band called NRG.

Derek Van Meter, Derek Von Ticktoff as the band called Him, was a Mark Haley protégé and had the endurance of a South American soccer player. Derek learned how to play drums on the ZIM-GAR set He bought from Adam Guy. Derek joined the band along with Lance Peterson after the break up of the band called WESTERN WASTE.

Guitar:

Lance Peterson: Lead time Lanny is His name, Lance is the Lead guitarist that every punk band needs, oops excuse me punk doesn't have lead guitar, and that's because they don't have Lanny. Lance was the rhythm guitar player for WESTERN WASTE and brought enthusiasm and excitement along with insane leads and song writing to the SOMINEX band and ILL WILL.

Sheldon Parker, Original HATER and chief lyricist, plays rhythm guitar and only rhythm guitar. Sheldon has never played in any other band.

Bass:

Brian Ramsay: Original HATER and the only bass player the HATER, SOMINEX, ILL WILL bands have ever had. Brian is a pure punk bass player lots of speed and stability. Brian like Sheldon has never played in any other bands.
