Commissions
Many of the paintings on my website
have already been sold and are in private collections.
However, I love to create custom pieces that take your ideas
& merge them with mine to design your perfect painting.
My larger paintings are usually made in
several sections thus allowing me to create non standard size
panoramic paintings
to fit hard to decorate spaces or open up a "window" in
a large wall.
How do I commission a painting?
A
Where do I plan to hang it?
Decide on a wall space, that could be enhanced with a painting.
A blank wall could be transformed into a focal point of a room
with a beautiful painting.
Think also of unusual spaces, such as a long narrow wall, a
curved space, corner or alcove,
where a custom piece can be situated for a stunning effect.
B
What size painting do I need?
Take time to figure out what size painting will work best either
by using a tape measure
or by cutting a piece of paper to the approximate size.
This is an important step, because many people underestimate the
size of a painting needed,
often choosing a piece that is too small and looks
"lost" once hung.
C
What subjects appeal to me?
Study the paintings on my website making notes about specific
features
in the paintings that appeal to you.
Also, make notes on subjects that you are personally fond of
i.e. the ocean, certain flowers, a musical instrument you play
etc.
D
What colors will look best?
Color is an important element of a painting.
If it contains colors that complement your decor then it will fit
naturally in your space.
Make a note of colors in your decor as well as colors that you
are especially fond of.
I am happy to spent time discussing the
best way to merge your ideas and mine to create a piece that you
will love.
I have created many custom pieces and never had anyone I've
worked with unhappy with the finished painting.
