Meet Jeremy "Spike" Van Wert

I grew up in Sunnyvale California. In my adolescent years went to Homestead High school in Cupertino and paid more attention to good times than my studies. I became interested in percussion and really got into the music program at Homestead High School where I graduated in 1995. Though I honed my skills and worked hard on my budding talents, I'm not sure if I am remembered at homestead for my musical abilities or for my tenacious ability to get myself into trouble for practical jokes.
In high school I fell in love with a local Drum Corps called the Santa Clara Vanguard. It was my dream to be a part of SCV's world class drum line as a tenor player. After four years of trying out I finally made it into the line in 1996. I marched 1996, 97', 98' with the Corps and experienced some great times and some serious self-actualization.
After aging out of the Corps I continued on in School and am currently a year away from a BS in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology. I have taken a great interest in school now that my classes actually stimulate my mind. I would one day like to be a therapist of some sort but am still deciding my path.
I am engaged to the lovely Miss. Sheri Swiger, an SCV and Blue Devil color guard alumnus. We are planning to get married on June 2, 2002. Sheri and I are attending SJSU together and will graduate at the same time. Sheri is an Anthropology major.
