Spenser paid me a visit today!!!  I heard a scrub jay outside, so I went out and called for Spenser.  I do that every time I hear a jay (I'm sure everyone within earshot thinks I'm crazy), but never get any kind of reaction from the birds.  But this time, Spenser immediately flew into a nearby tree and let me get about a foot away from him.  He wouldn't come all the way to me, but when I started talking to him, he "chirruped" back in the soft little voice that he always used to chatter at me when I was raising him.  He looked great and his feathers were shiny and sleek.  I brought out some cheddar goldfish (his favorite snack) and set them on the ground next to me.  He immediately snatched them up and then flew off with one of his pals who had been watching us from a distance.

I got a few pictures, although they didn't turn out very well since the sun was right above us.  Enjoy!
