Space Coast Poetry Club promotes poetry through contests, workshops, public readings, aanthologies, and other activities for poets in eastern central Florida. SCPC is affiliated with Florida State Poets Association and the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. Our members are also officers in other local writers' club such as Florida Writers Association, Scribblers Writers Club of Brevard, and Writrs Guild of Brevard County. 	2003 Poetry Contests Sponsor: Space Coast Poetry Club, Brevard County, Florida The Marcia Colvin Memorial Prize for Excellence in Poetry * Open to all Florida residents * Prizes: $50, $20, and $10 * Any form, any theme * Previously published poems may be submitted. Line limit: 40 lines. * Entry fee: $3.00 per poem Space Coast Poetry Club Prizes (2 categories) * Limited to residents of Brevard County, FL * Categories: 1. Rhymed poem--any theme 2. Free verse (unrhymed)--any theme * Prizes in each category: $15, $10, $5 and 3 Honorable Mentions * Previously published poems may be submitted. Line limit: 32 lines * Entry fee: $2.00 per poem Guidelines for Entering 1. Poet's name, address, phone and/or e-mail should appear on the back of the poem 2. 	Dear Poets: PLEASE NOTE THESE MEETING DATES: 4th Monday of the month at the Cocoa Public Library, Forrest & Mulberry Sts., Cocoa, unless otherwise stated: 2003: January 27; February 24; March 24; April 28; and June 23. Business mtg. 1:30 pm; Readings 2:00 pm. The Library will be closed May 26 so another arrangement will be made and you?ll be notified.
	Annual dues for 2003 are payable in January. Membership includes inclusion in activites and functions, poetry anthologies, notices, and a bimonthly newsletter with poetry, contests of many sorts, printed workshops to improve your writing skills and enjoyment of poetry, personal resources, and news of poetic interest.
