Here is a sampling of some of the projects currently being facilitated by the South Park Economic Council:
Biomass Plant
The goal is to combine the resources of private contractors and government agencies to build a plant to produce pellot stove fuel with the excess forest products found in Central Colorado, along with the possibility of an electrical energy co-generation plant in the same location to use the excess heat created by the process.

"Wood Village"

To complement the biomass project, the idea is to create a facility for local artisans to create and sell their wood products in a location that could become a tourist attraction in and of itself as well.

South Park Forestry Association

The goal of this organization is to allow smaller, local forest-related industries to pool resources so that they are able to bid on larger projects as a cooperative effort.

South Park Area Visitors Association

The idea behind the SPAVA is to create a comprehensive sales effort aimed at increasing the presence and awareness of Park County, the 285 Corridor, and the US 24 Corridor as a tourist destination within the regional market. For more information on visiting South Park, please visit our web site at:
