Southern Oaks is situated on an acre shaded by century-old oak and pecan trees.

There are 3 gathering areas:

The Dining Room, The Parlor, and The Ballroom. The Parlor and Dining Rooms can be set up with buffet tables and/or guest tables seating 24 in each room. The Ballroom can be set up for intimate weddings of 75 or less; and can be set up with tables for a sit-down dinner for as many as 60 guests. Using all of the rooms can accommodate approximately 150 people for a reception--where some guests are seated at tables in some rooms, and some guests sit in chairs around the perimeter of the ballroom. There is also space for a DJ in the ballroom.

The wide hallway can accommodate setting up buffet tables for food service, if the other rooms are being used for seating.

There is also a spacious front porch with white columns--a charming space to set up guest tables and chairs, to put barrels of drinks, or to pose for photographs.

The huge back yard is secluded and has plenty of level greenspace which can be used for outdoor events. Our new gazebo is particularly suited for outdoor ceremonies. There is greenspace enough to seat 150 or even more guests.

There is ample parking for 150 guests.

***RATES***

NOTE: Rental cost of Southern Oaks depends on the day of the week that it is being rented, and the type of event.

Week-day rates for WEDDINGS: (Monday thru Friday, day or evening) $600, for 4 hours, $100 for each additional hour.

NOTE: ON WEEK-ENDS (Saturday or Sunday) when using for a wedding ceremony followed by a reception, Southern Oaks must be rented for the entire day.

THERE ARE TWO PACKAGES TO CHOOSE FROM:

Choice #1 - ALL-INCLUSIVE - Package includes rental of the house and gazebo area, outdoor music set-up, use of up to 150 white chairs, use of tables and white tablecloths.

COST OF ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE (#1) - $2000

Choice #2 - LIMITED - Package includes rental of the house and gazebo area, and use of tables. (Renter must rent chairs and provide their own tablecloths, etc.)

COST OF LIMITED PACKAGE (#2) - $1500

FOR RECEPTIONS ONLY: If the ceremony is off-site and the renter wishes to use Southern Oaks for a reception only, the rate is as follows: $1000 for a minimum of 4 hours, and $100 for each additional hour; or $1500 for the entire day.

NOTE: There is also a special "party rate" for non-wedding related private parties. Call to find out about these rates.

DIRECTIONS TO SOUTHERN OAKS:

~From Atlanta area:

Go South on I-75, take the Ga. Hwy. 85 exit (it's an "exit only"). Go South through Riverdale and into Fayetteville. Go through several lights. Look for a "Michael's" craft store on the left. At the very next street, turn left onto Georgia Avenue (Larry's Giant Subs on the corner). Go to stop sign. Turn right onto Jeff Davis Drive. Southern Oaks is the 6th house on the right, right after Carver Street. Parking and entrance in back.

~From Old National/Union City area:

Take 138 to 279. Turn right onto 279 (Old National), and go to 314. Turn right onto 314. Stay on this into Fayetteville. It turns into Jeff Davis Drive when it crosses Ga. Hwy. 85. Go several blocks after crossing Ga. 85. Look for Carver Street on right. Southern Oaks is the 2nd house after Carver St. Parking and entrance in back.

~From Peachtree City/Coweta:

Take Hwy 54 into Fayetteville. Cross Ga. Hwy. 85 (old courthouse will be on left). Go to next light after the courthouse. This is Jeff Davis Dr. Turn left. Look for Mowell Funeral Home on the left. Southern Oaks is the 3rd house past the funeral home. Must go past it a little then do a U-turn to get to Southern Oaks driveway. OR, rather than making U-turn, you may turn left onto Carver Street, and go past 1st house. Back entrance on left into Southern Oaks parking lot.

~From Jonesboro:

Take Tara Blvd. south. Turn right onto Hwy. 54 (at the QT). Stay on 54 till you get into Fayetteville and come to Jeff Davis Drive (Exxon on your right). Turn right onto Jeff Davis and look for Mowell Funeral Home on the left. Southern Oaks is the 3rd house past the funeral home. Must go past it a little then do a U-turn to get to Southern Oaks driveway; OR turn left onto Carver Street and take the 1st left into the back entrance of Southern Oaks.

~From Griffin:

Take Hwy 92 north til almost in Fayetteville. 92 will turn off to the left. Don't do that--stay straight. This road turns into Jeff Davis Drive. Look for Mowell Funeral Home on the left. Southern Oaks is the 3rd house past the funeral home. Must go past it a little then do a U-turn to get to Southern Oaks driveway; OR turn left onto Carver Street, and then turn left into the back entrance of Southern Oaks.

~From the South:

Take Ga. Hwy. 85 north into Fayetteville. Turn Right onto Hwy. 54. Go to next light. Turn left onto Jeff Davis Drive, North. Look for the Mowell Funeral Home on the left. Southern Oaks is the third house north of the funeral home. See above.
