Our soapmaking experience began in 1999 when we encountered homemade soap
at a local craft fair. Intriqued, I purchased a small bar. After using the soap on my skin, I knew there was no returning
to using commercially made soap. The homemade soap was rich and luxurious, creating skin that felt silky both in and
out of the shower.
My skin was soft and silky for the first time. I had always suffered
from the infamous "winter itch". No amount of bars with moisturizing cream or lotion seemed to relieve the discomfort. But after
using the homemade soap, the discomfort has ceased. The bars are full of naturally ocurring glycerin which draws moisture
to the skin. These bars also contain NO synthetic scents, dyes and preservatives-- all of which can dry and
irritate the skin.
My one-year-old son had many skin problems before our encounter with homemade
soap. We had great difficulty finding any kind of soap to use on him that didn’t cause irritations or skin troubles.
Already in his short life he had been to see a dermatologist several times. Once I began using my homemade soap on him, his
skin troubles ceased. He also never had another diaper rash.
Through the years I have experimented with various recipes, trying to find ones that met the needs of our family. Some in my family need soaps "super-fatted" with
many oils, some need a bar that is not so moisturizing. Some have found their skin is sensitive to certain plant essential
oils. But we all have found one of the soaps to be like candy to our skin.
Our hope is that you will find a bar that soothes your body as well as your soul.
