HISTORY
Pottery has been a source of artful expression in Vietri since the 15th
century and the Porcelli family followed their ancestors’ tradition and began creating and designing “Vietri Art”
in 1965. Each piece created by the Porcelli family is handcrafted, fired and hand painted predominately using brilliant Mediterranean
colors, such as cobalt blue to reflect the sea and bright yellow to represent the grape fruit-size lemons that grow in the
Amalfi region and a variety of different designs depicting the Amalfi folklore, the four seasons of Amalfi and the fruits
and fishes of the coast.
STYLE
Vietri Art includes an assortment of styles ranging from hanging and floor
lamps, wall décor, dishes, wall clocks, and flowerpots to bathroom and kitchen accessories. This art is imported directly
from the village of Vietri, and sold exclusively in Naples.
Among the rich assortment of Vietri Art you will find Lemoncello, a traditional
after dinner liqueur derived from the large grape-fruit sized lemons grown in the orchards of Positano, delicious and colorful
pasta and rich café found in Salerno, as well as a special assortment of wines and champagne from the villages surrounding
the Amalfi coast.
