Named for the town of Midnight as in Midnight & Sometimes Later, and site of various businesses served by the railroad.  This town has grown as a result of the building of the new NWX Yard.  (Updated 09/08/07)

 

Bradley Mfg.

Bradley Manufacturing is named after Ed's middle son who is an engineer.

Mark's Bakery is named for Ed's youngest son. What better place for Mark to practice his love of cooking than in a bakery.

Fair Haven Bottling Co

This was the name of the kit I bought to put on a Northwest Crossing Module. I liked the name because Darlene & I are members of Fair Haven United Methodist Church. Remember, this is a bottling company, not a brewery. (Updated 10/30/05)

Luke Weston Bridge

I was trying to come up with a name for the church and had just finished reading Jan Karon's latest book about the Episcopal Priest at Lords Chapel. Her stories are so enjoyable that it just seemed right to name the church "Lords Chapel" (Updated 11/07/02)

Hanley Falls

 

Located just 13 miles south of Ed's hometown of Granite Falls, Minnesota. Location of the first interchange track created in 1901 between the Great Northern and the Minneapolis & St. Louis railroads. (Updated 1/2/05)

Storage and Interchange Tracks

Katie Lake

Ralph's Beer & Tackle and fishing dock

Team Track

Jerry Edwards of Northwest Crossing Model Railroad Club challenged the members to scratch build something made out of wood. Kelly made this loading ramp for the team track and earned a BLUE RIBBON at the 2002 San Jacinto Train Show. (Updated 10/07/02)

Hillside Village

 

This town is on a hillside, so naturally it is named Hillside. They have an M&SL depot, a cafe and several businesses in their little town. Notice the stairway the workers in Midnight use when going to the Hillside Café for beans.

NWX Yard

 

NWX Yard is named for the Modular RR Club Ed and Kelly belonged to for years. The yard was built in 2007 in the closet above the workbench. The enginge service facility has been moved from Midnight here.

 

 

Engine House

Every yard must have the central office and engine facility. This is where the action is. Access to the engine house is accomplished by using the switchback in then yard. This facility was moved from the old Midnight Yard in 2007 (Updated 09/08/07)

 

Russell Tower
