The DI News included a survey with 9 questions regarding the island.  The following conclusions are the result of the survey response.
  • The waterfront aspects of our community are very important to DI residents.
  • People are concerned about any new public access facilities that may draw more traffic to the area.
  • Access to waterfront points via biking are walking are less than ideal.
  • Public waterfront areas already contribute to traffic issues.
  • The cleanliness and water quality of waterfront areas are extremely important.
  • Programs that help DI kids learn more about the bay and our waterfront are of interest to the community.
  • Storm drain management must be dramatically improved.
  • Canals on the island need attention.  Improvement in flow and ongoing maintenance planning need to be addressed

These survey result will help in forming our objectives and in choosing our positions on issues that are debated.
