Pastor Terje is a native of Norway. He grew up in a coastal area north of the Artic Circle. Pastor Terje attended seminary at the University of Oslo in Norway. It was there that he met his wife, Heidi who was from Eden Prarie, Minnesota. Pastor Terje has also served congregations in British Columbia and in Alberta, Canada.

Pastor Terje is also a cowboy and a psychothearpist. He has worked as a cowboy on large working ranches (not dude ranches) in Montana, South Dakota, New Mexico, and Texas. Pastor Terje has his own adventure business, Western Comfort, where he takes Europeans and Americans to ride alongside him, doing the work that the season requires. Norwegain TV and Swedish TV have both filmed programs about Pastor Terje's work with Western Comfort.

Pastor Terje and Heidi have two children, Maren and Jeremiah. Maren just graduated from college and is working in Colorado and Jeremiah is going to college in Northern Minnesota. They all enjoy playing guitars and singing. Pastor Terje's family still lives in Norway.
