Excerpt from Vic’s last letter home, dated March 16, 1945, after leaving Midway.

(mailed in Guam, just prior to Snook's 9th and final patrol):

  

“Gee I sure hope this darn War comes to an end.  This life is really getting disgusting.  Truthfully I get so darn disgusted… it makes me believe at times… I was going crazy.  But don’t worry, Mom, I’ll make it out OK and I’ll also be back when this darn War is over.  And that day still can’t be too soon to suit me.                         --- Victor Gregorini Bkr 2/c"
