Please check out my personal photo pages about Uncle
Vic and the USS Snook, via the links to the left. Other selected links of interest are below. If you find a "broken" link or
know of any others that should be added to my site, please let me know. I hope you enjoy.
--- Vic
"One of the top-scoring U.S. subs of World
War II, the record of USS Snook (SS-279) stands high within the fraternity known as 'The Silent Service.' During
her nine aggressive war patrols against the Japanese, Snook sank 19 vessels totaling nearly 74,000 tons of enemy ships.
Another 13 vessels suffered damage inflected by her torpedoes. Less than five months before the end of WWII, Snook
disappeared without a trace, taking a brave and seasoned crew of eighty-four to their watery graves."
--- Rick Cline (Author of Final Dive)
If you have a family member, who was lost aboard the USS Snook,
please email me at the address on the bottom of this page.
I would love to add your photos and stories to my site...

Updates
New photos can be seen on the George Olson page. Uncle Vic's and John Billingsley's pages each have a new photo
of their names on the marker at Seal Beach. These are accessible from The Crew page. Thanks to Marianne Light.
Marianne also send me a new link (see below) to an article about the USS Lagarto being found.
The Crew page also has some comments I have received from a former submariner.
