"One of the top-scoring U.S. subs of World War II, the record of USS Snook (SS-279) stands high within the fraternity known as 'The Silent Service.'  During her nine aggressive war patrols against the Japanese, Snook sank 19 vessels totaling nearly 74,000 tons of enemy ships.  Another 13 vessels suffered damage inflected by her torpedoes.  Less than five months before the end of WWII, Snook disappeared without a trace, taking a brave and seasoned crew of eighty-four to their watery graves."                       --- Rick Cline (Author of Final Dive)

New Family Member!
Delmer Crawford's great-niece, Jennifer Rath, has emailed me!  You can see the updates for his page via the links from "The Crew."  I added a second photo, which Jennifer sent, along with her comments and email address.

My Apologies!
Due to a family medical problem, I had to cancel my trip to Groton!  I'm sorry I was not able to get the photos I promised.
I don't know when I will be getting up that way...

Updates
The George Olson Page has been updated with new photos.

I am planning a trip to Groton this fall.  To all, who I've been in contact with, I will take photos at the Wall of Honor (Names, etc.) and email them to you.  To anyone "new" visiting this page: If you have lost a loved one on Snook, please email me so I'll be sure to include "him" in my photos.
