We are a very small, family-owned and run business, specializing in renting remodeled
older houses close to the Duke University campus in Durham, NC. We have efficiencies, one and two-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom
townhomes, & 2-bedroom houses. We own and have done (or overseen) renovations on all the properties we rent.
Many have classic features and pleasant surroundings that you can't find in new apartment complexes. See house pages
(and vacancy announcement below) for details on what unit(s) are coming open. [Most of our openings occur
in late summer]

Welcome to running dog! My
name is Sandy. I have a confession. I really like old houses. I know it's a little out of control. I
got hooked in 1991 when I bought my first HUD house (the Green St. house), and roped everyone I knew into helping me
renovate it. They forgave me, and over the next 14 years four more houses followed and thus evolved an obsession
with creating habitable spaces that has become "running dog." (Now, finally, we're getting around to renovating
the house we actually live in.) Don't be put off by our company name -- (for those of you who are on top of
your imperialist history) we're actually nice people . . . really.
