Sixth and final hiking day - Tokopah Falls and Lake Trails - 12 miles today

These pictures are from Monday, September 27th, our last day of hiking.

Tokopah Falls
Above - me down at the base of Tokopah Falls.  Most of the falls we saw both here and at Yosemite had much less water in them than they do in the Spring time - a few had none at all.  This one had very, very little but  there was a trickle beneath the boulders.

The Watchtower

This is the Watchtower taken from the base of Tokopah Falls.  We ate lunch near the top of this tower on the Lakes Trail.

Lunch near the Watchtower

This is where we ate lunch, near the Watchtower.  The Watchtower is a rock formation towering over the valley we hiked earlier.  Couldn't actually clib onto the watchtower itself but the trail flattened out right next to it, making a nice place for a lunch break.

Overlooking the Watchtower
Above is a shot of Anne is the same position as in the picture above this one, with the watchtower formation just beyond and to the left of where she is sitting.  Doesn't look nearly as dominating as it did from the valley floor.

On the Watchtower Trail

After lunch we continued on up the Watchtower Trail to Heather Lake, the first of three lakes on the Lakes Trail, which the Watchtower Trail is a part of.  As usual, Anne is ten car lengths ahead of me.

Heather Lake
Anne beside Heather Lake.  This is as far as we went on the Lake Trail, returning to the trail head by way of the "Hump Trail", still part of the Lake Trail.  Behind the camera and to the left was the three sided privy referred to in the log on the home page.
