Tharp's log - Tharp was the earliest white man to visit the area. He hollowed
out this log, added a little bit to it and lived in it during several summers.

going to the Cresent Meadow parking area where we hiked from on this day. (there was a bypass for those vehicles
too high to pass under, or to avoid delay due to picture takers, like us.)
