Easy to Join

Just show up. It's that easy! We are always looking for people interested in wood carving. Beginners and experienced alike. No applications, just a sign in sheet for the Parks Department to show we are holding meetings.

Beginners, we'll help you get started, talk to you about tools, show you some simple projects, and give you instruction to insure you're off to a safe start. For those without tools who wish to start immediately we have beginner kits that include everything you need to start the day you arrive.

If you want to bring your own project and tools "just show up", no reservations needed, we have plenty of chairs.

Who Can Join?

Anyone, however, a word of caution here, wood carving is not advised for young children. It's hard to place an exact number on the right age. Precisely when you're old enough is as individual as a childs talents, maturity, and tool dexterity. They vary considerably. If in doubt please ask during the meeting so we can discuss the saftey issues with you and get the instructors approval in advance.
