June 9th 2006 - picked up!
This is how the bike looked in the ad:

My goal for this project is to build the bike up to full Limited Edition specs, or better.
This is how it looked when I brought it home and cleaned it up- only a GYTR Yamaha carbon tank pad was added.
The bike is so clean- this is the newest bike I've ever had..
6/23/2007
GYTR Exhaust, tail fender eliminator, short signals added.
I used standard LP short signals for the front with adapter plates from ebay, and Turn signal bolt signals on the rear. Only downside is the bulbs aren't replaceable on those :(
June 30th 2007
Added Power Commander III, Speedo healer, GYTR filter, Graves Velocity stacks, 16/47 520 gearing conversion: Vortex front /AFAM rear sprockets, DID ERV3 chain
Graves stacks, GYTR filter
PCIII plug-in harness
PCIII, Speedo healer, LCD Volt meter, Battery tender plug!
AFAM sprocket and DID chain
Yamaha solo seat, removed passenger pegs, Zero Gravity DB screen
July 6th, 2007
Installed Vortex rear sets, STM slipper clutch, Billet upper triple clamp.
It looks nice, but was a bitch to install- I had to mill off the original lock bolts, and play with the headset lock nut setup to make it fit right. I also dropped the front end about 3.5-4mm for better response. The billet triple is rock solid, and slightly lighter than stock.
The Vortex rear sets were easy enough to install- I'm waiting for the brake switch banjo bolt, and I may modify the heat shield to work. Note Graves rear brake assist spring- nice to have now, since the aftermarket rear sets do not come with a return spring. The STM slipper clutch was also easy to install- just follow the tutorial on the R1 forum!
Last mod of the night- a Vortex Billet gas cap I picked up dirt cheap off ebay. I don't leave my bike out unattended anyways.
July 7th, 2007
installed Galfer rear wave rotor, HH pads
July 9th, 2007
installed home made electric fan switch and quick turn throttle mod (see new tutorial sections)
July 13th, 2007
Finished installing Ohlins R&T 327 forks, front and rear Galfer Stainless lines, Vortex brake light switch, and Pazzo levers. The fork is buttery smooth compared to stock, yet has better damping. I gues it helps the springs are for my weight unlike my stockers :)
July 14th, 2007
Installed rear Ohlins shock
July 16th, 2007
Installed Ohlins damper, Puig light smoke DB windscreen
July 17th, 2007
Installed Galfer front rotors, front HH pads
July 30th, 2007
Installed BST wheels, Drive Systems 47T rear sprocket
Including the added weight of the new Pirelli Corsa III tires, about 3lbs was saved up front, 4lbs in the rear.

August 17th, 2007
Bike has been down about a week- installed YZF-R1LE suspension adjusting link and triangle, superbike fork valving with anti brake dive, and 110NM rear spring. Also installed Graves block off plates.
You can just see the adjustment on the suspension link.
Rear suspension triangle linkage is no longer two hollow plates, but a solid piece of machined billet.
Now the bike is spring/valved for my weight and ready to ride :)
