2000 Ducati 748

SOLD- 6/2007

March 2007 - delivery!

This is how the bike looked in the ad:

A few blemishes here and there, a small crack in front, and just a bit dirty.

And it had a mod list..

- OHLINS Steering Damper
- OHLINS Rear Shock
- Marchesini Forged Aluminum Wheels (RED)
- Vesrah RJL Brake Pads
- Frame Sliders (not shown on street body work, didn't want to drill holes in stock fairings. easy install... holes drilled in track body work.)
- Power Commander
- Termignoni Carbon Fiber Exhaust Half System
- Acculign Rear Sets
- Mad Duc Reverse Shift (GP Shift)
- Hotbodies Track Body Work with tall windscreen
- Recent Valve Service with new rocker arms and Kevlar drive belts (performed by GP Motorcycles San Diego)
- FBF Bar Risers
- Mono & BiPosto tail included with passenger pegs
- Mad Duc Race Air Filters
- AFAM Quick Change Rear Sprocket Carrier with 2 Sprockets
- Front Triple Pin Stand and Rear Single Side Swingarm Stand

So.. I got tempted and did a partial trade for my old YSR200..  I love projects!

And so the teardown began..  I ordered parts I needed and fixed whatever needed fixing..

All fluids/spark plugs/filters were refreshed too

The red wheels looked a bit rough, and didn't really match the bike, so I had them powdercoated.

New mod list:

- Evoluzione clutch slave cylinder
- Evoluzione license plate bracket/turn signal eliminator
- Removed power commander
- BCM in-box air filters
- Michelin Pilot Power wheels
- Flipped cluthc plates (surprisingly, this refresher mod works well!)
- Fixed Termignoni mid pipe
- Updated Acculign Rear Sets
- Acculign standard shift pedal (Couldn't wrap my brain around GP shift- old habits die hard)
- Touched up fairings, repaired & touched up crack
- New billet clutch cover
- Billet brake reservoir cover
- Desmo Times New style battery mod
- New (used) throttle tube
- Front number plate (decal)
- motowheels sprocket cover
- Other minor odds and ends

And here's the result:

April 2007

Since it's mostly 748S spec or better,  I added:

- Brembo 748s snowflake semi-floating rotors
- DZUS QR fasteners
- Carbon Fiber tank protector (not shown)
- Carbon fiber dash (waiting to be installed)

That's it for now- I'm waiting on a parts order with a few more little items I'd like to refresh, and I will install the carbon dash at that time- maybe 2-3 more weeks.
