Hello, my name is Michelle Loftis. I'm glad you stopped by.
This website is a portfolio of past work. If you see something here that you like I would be happy to make something similar for you.
To see everything that I currently have for sale click on the purple Etsy link below.
Now a little info about me.....
I have been a sculptor for over 34 years. I have loved animals, especially horses for longer than I can remember! I had been creating reproductions of my original sculptures since 1984. In 2004 I got a raku kiln and started making one of a kind sculptures again. About 3 years ago I destroyed all the molds for my reproductions and have been focusing all my energy on creating OOAK(One Of A Kind) raku pieces. I LOVE to take a piece of clay and pound, squeeze, stretch and smooth it until I can see whatever creature I am creating come to life. Then the raku firing is sort of the icing on the cake, it gives each sculpture such a unique energy and appearance. And when a piece comes out it is such a feeling of accomplishment to have used all the elements of nature, earth, air, fire and water to create a beautiful work of art. I'm so blessed to get to do what I do!

We have some news about our booth at the Renaissance Festival. After 21 wonderful summers of participating and selling work at the festival, our booth is up for sale. It's time to finally have summers at home! The only places that you will be able to find our work will be on Etsy and at our gallery, Green Horse Gallery in Manitou Springs, Colorado.

To the left is a custom built sculpture of my brother's dog. As you see in the photo Vern's tail is a bit shorter than your average Bloodhound, he lost part of it after being hit by a car. That's the great thing about these custom pets that I am creating, I take things that are unique to your pet only and incorporate them into the sculpture to make a special interpretation of your cherished friend.

If you are interested in having a custom piece made please feel free to email me at the address below

Dan's pages.

Also I'd like to introduce you all to my 24 year old son Dan. As you can see from the photo he is also a sculptor and has begun his own line of work,

   SINISTER  SCULPTURE

with his own unique style, kind of the Yang to my Yin!! He's been selling his work since he was 15 and has begun to develop quite a following, and as the months go by his work keeps evolving and growing in leaps and bounds. Dan's work is all one of a kind, sculpted from stoneware or raku clay, and most of it is now raku fired, with just a little hand painted work.
